p style=”text-align: left”>Living in Sonoma wine country affords us some of the best wines in the world. My personal favorites are the Russian River Valley Pinot Noirs. I don’t know what it is, but something about this appellation creates some of the smoothest reds I’ve ever tasted.
One of my favorites is created by my good friend Patrick Melley, winemaker extraordinaire at Russian Hill Estate Winery. The Russian Hill estate is located at 4525 Slusser Road, Windsor CA, and is a well kept secret here in the valley. Not always easy to get at retail, people often go directly to the vineyard to purchase. And, it’s definitely worth the trip.
With their own acreage of grapes, a winery, a home reminiscent of Tara, and a wine tasting room with one of the best view of west county Sonoma; you are invited to bring your own picnic and enjoy a bottle of Russian Hill wine with your meal overlooking the spectacular view.
We recently had a great get together with friends over a terrific mushroom risotto (with mushrooms from our very own ranch), paired with some stunning Reds, both a Pinot and a Petit Syrah from The Russian Hill Estates. Thank you Patrick for providing us with this nectar of the Gods!
On your next visit to Sonoma, be sure to stop by and visit Russian Hill Estates. Tell them Ron L. Welsh sent you! Enjoy.
