Iron Horse Vineyards is just down the street and around the corner from our Sonoma County Properties offices, here in Graton, CA. They grow all their own chardonnay and pinot grapes on this property.
They are best known for their sparkling wines, especially their wedding cuvee, which is spectacular. It is Iron Horse’s Blanc de Noirs, made from predominantly Pinot Noir. It has a beautiful rose color, and is dangerously easy to drink!
My wife and I are particularly fond of their Iron Horse Brut Rosé, one of the prettiest pinks in a glass. Bold and vibrant in both color and taste, it comes from cold soaking Sonoma Counties well know Pinot Noir grapes on the skins.
We love it combined with anything from steak to lobster. It also goes with Mediterranean cuisine, duck or venison and is perfect with Easter ham and Thanksgiving turkey.
Iron Horse is also one of the the vineyards we like to take our out of town guest to as it has spectacular views of the very green, Green Valley. Their tasting room is outdoors, and surrounded by beautiful countryside.
